There is a lot going on in the Matroska world. Visible and not visible things. For example libebml2 (a pure C and BSD version of libebml) can now handle CRC-32 on read and write operations. So it is now feature complete and closer to an official release. mkclean and mkvalidator are now making use of this feature.

There is an initiative in some french independant movie theatres to sell Matroska versions of the movies they are showing so people can watch them at home: Vidéo en poche
